For close to five years now I have been pretty much bi-coastal between spending my time with clients in sunny Hollywood, Los Angeles and the fast paced, fast talking New York /New Jersey region where I grew up.
During that time I’ve gone through a lot of struggles, and it hasn’t been easy having three children on the east coast that I share joint custody with. There are a lot of ups and downs between being self-employed, a dad and maintaining a good spiritual practice as well as healthy life style. No one said the balance would be easy and I often drop one or two of the balls I’m juggling, which always prompts me to laugh at myself. After all, I’ve always said, “Seriousness is a disease of the ego” and I sure enjoy a good chuckle at my own expense.
At the end of the day I do have unwavering faith of my purpose and my ability to serve mankind and make a difference. Even if it’s a small one, I’m happy with that, I sleep well.
For these last 5 years my client list in Los Angeles has really grown to probably 70 percent of my overall business. Of those clients, 90% are in the entertainment industry and probably 90% of those clients in the entertainment field are women. Needless to say I had to face an initial real crash course into that industry as well as learning and processing the Hollywood west coast life style which was mind-boggling to me.
During this period I had to ask myself many question for my own growth. One of those questions was why are most of my clients women in entertainment and why are they being taken advantage of or so oppressed by men?
Back to my faith… I do believe truly that the universe is perfect and there is an answer for all the trials and hurdles we’ve ever faced. If we see things as lessons to master rather than from a victim mentality we can break a cycle or loop faster by changing the energy we radiate. By relying on our faith we can free ourselves of those karmic struggles, negative patterns sometimes buried in our sub conscious mind in order to ascend further.
So, through my self-realization and faith I was able to figure it out, the big universal why. Growing up in a house full of women, I had watched my mom and sister go through a lot of pain and oppression from the opposite sex. Many serious and painful struggles as a matter of fact. As a hypnotherapist and healer I guess you could say it’s in my subconscious to want to help empower others especially women. Most likely a similar reason as to why I became a whistleblower against a medical giant years ago. I think the world needs more Robin Hoods’, King Arthurs’ and Luke Skywalkers’, to help propel mankind to another level. A level where all are equal and to have faith in doing the right thing, standing up for the weak or down trodden WILL set you free.
I think its up to the men now… The women have done their part in creating the #MeToo movement. Those men that are in power of the masses or are the most influential need to stand up and be examples of integrity and righteousness in order to make the most swiftest drastic transformation for mankind.
My call to action is for men to speak up and have faith no matter what the outcome might be. If you overhear another man or are in a conversation where another man is disparaging or talking negatively about a female, say its inappropriate. If it’s your boss making the comment, maybe its time you got another job, a better job. If it’s your friend, maybe its time you chose a better group of friends, better friends.
Remember that person could be your daughter or sister or mother.
I wouldn’t want to be known for the rest of my life as the Billy Bush of the infamous Donald Trump interview. Billy Bush was guilty of what is called “bystander abuse.” Bystander abuse means by not speaking up you endorse what is being said. Just think of the positive shift that would have happened around the world if Billy Bush took some action and told Donald Trump “lets cool it, I’m not good with this discussion” or “lets move it on.”
I challenge all men lets change this internal programing that may have been passed down through generations, society or the media that women are not equal. Lets be the force to lift women up and put them on a pedestal instead of tearing them down. Gender inequality and sexual misconduct is never acceptable.
